Dear Claire:
Thank you for sending me a copy of Charles Archibald's letter to Paul
Abramson.  I have several concerns since reading it and think that all COT
should receive a copy of it so that the following comments make sense.  Would
you be willing to send a copy to Arthur Jackson and Charles Hedges, please?

My comments and concerns:

>From my reading, Charles Archibald (ChAd) seems to welcome Paul to the COT,
assuming he has been voted in.  I don't read anywhere that ChAd forwarded the
letter you sent him regarding Paul's nomination to the other officers of the
Chapter Assembly (CA), which was our intent.  Since ChAd resigned as
Secretary of the CA Board, and we did not know that when we sent the letter,
it seems we need to retransmit the nomination to an officer, ANY officer, of
the CA.

>From what I read in ChAd's letter, there is only one officer of the Board of
CA left as all but Lloyd Kumley (LK) have resigned.  So, voting on our
nomination does not seem possible at this moment, considering there is only
one officer of CA. We are then unable to bring Paul on board until CA Board
is reconstituted.

I am concerned that there is such turmoil on the CA Board that all officers
but LK resigned.  ChAd alludes to some reasons for his resignation, which
include the relationship between CA and COT.  He also clearly states his view
of LK's position on who controls the CA Fund for Chapter Expansion.  This
report of LK's position is worrisome for me.

It seems we should all read the letter and then communicate our concerns as
well as proposed actions.

At a minimum, I think a copy of the letter nominating Paul Abramson as a
member of the COT should be sent to Lloyd Kumley as Chair of the CA,
notifying him that we of the COT expect a quorum of officers of CA to vote on
our nomination in a timely fashion so that the COT can officially include
Paul in our actions.  If Paul's nomination is vetoed, we need to act in a
timely manner to submit another applicant.

Please let me know your reactions to the letter.
