Mission Statement:
"The dual mission of Darwin Day Celebration is to promote public education about science and in addition to encourage the celebration of Science and Humanity throughout the global community including the general public, private and public institutions, science professionals, science educators at all levels, libraries, museums, the print and electronic media, and science enthusiasts everywhere. Science is our most reliable knowledge system. It has been, and continues to be, acquired solely through the application of human curiosity and ingenuity and, most importantly, it has provided enormous benefit to the health, prosperity and intellectual satisfaction for our human existence. These are worthy achievements for all people to celebrate!"

Staffing Plan:
One fulltime volunteer manager
One fulltime system developer
Two fulltime communications experts
Three part time volunteers as available
Fundraising Plan:
We seek funds in a variety of ways
1. Direct opportunity for donations by all visitors to our Web site
2. Request for funds from our list of Supporters
3. Direct contributions from Board members and friends of Darwin Day
4. Grant applications to trusts, foundations, and philanthropists
5. Solicit gifts of stocks and bonds
6. Request for donations by attendees at Darwin Day events
Strategic Plan:
Summarizing from our Strategy statement above, there are several components to
our strategic plan for the next three years:
1. Charles Darwin's bicentennial birthday will be on Feb 12, 2009 and we intend to exploit this fact by reaching out to all those who would be inclined to honor his work. Our intent is to increase our outreach program each year so that a global Celebration can be achieved in 2009.
2. Evolution has become an educational football in our public schools and we intend to use this as an educational opportunity to expand information we present to the general public. To do this we intend to markedly increase our visibility through increasing numbers of Darwin Day EVENTS.
3. We are translating our website into 8 or 10 of the world's major languages so that we can more effectively reach out to those in other countries!
