Event: Dr. Baird & The Opossums of Truth Celebrate Darwin's Birthday
Contact: Carol Davidson Baird 858-481-0765 or 858-481-8511
Activity:
Two hour concert of scientific gospel music - in the style of American roots music with lyrics in praise of science, scientists and rational thinkers everywhere. A celebration in song of Darwin's birthday, featuring "The Ballad of Charlie Darwin." Of course, political satire is always a part of the evening. Humorous songfest and birthday cake.
Check Scientific Gospel website for more information about the band, their music and mission. Continual updates regarding this concert, other appearances during the year and outrageous news articles about irrational events in the world. Remember: Evolution really can turn a fish into a man!
Here we will list web sites that provide a special Darwin Day message and/or resource and/or activity, etc., on their web site during the February 12 celebrations. We will list URLs along with any interesting and unusual bits worth noting.
